Introduction to fundamental categories and concepts of social development. Understanding the basic determinants and risks of social development.

Training students to understand the problem of social development and its determinants.

Theoretical lectures

Concepts and elements of social development. Social development actors. Functions of state in social development. Sustainable development. Risks of development. Social inequalities. Developmental contradictions. Perspectives of social groups. Human rights and social development. Changes in values and the value system. Socialization of a personality and identity.

Practical lectures

Getting students acquainted with basic directions and documentsand mastering basic indicators of inequality and well-being: Gini coefficient, Human Development Index (HDI), civil society.
