Biography

Marina Vesic was born on 24th of Jun 1988 in Sabac, where she finished the High School (majoring in law). In 2007 she enrolled undergraduate studies in Tourism at Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade. She graduated in 2011 with an average grade of 9.73 and defended her thesis on “Comparative analysis of the potential of border regions of Serbia and Croatia for the development of hunting tourism”. In 2011, Marina enrolled master’s studies, department of Tourismology, from where she successfully graduated in 2012 with an average grade of 10.00. She defended her Master thesis “Current state of the impact of nature protection on the development of tourism in the area of the Golija-Studenica Biosphere Reserve” in 2012. During the final year of undergraduate and master studies, for consecutive two years, Marina was holder of a scholarship from the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia (Dositeja). She enrolled her Ph.D studies in 2012, at the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade, in the study group of Tourism.

Since the November 2012, she has been employed at the Faculty of Geography University of Belgrade, as a trainee researcher based on her engagement in the science project of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia no. 176008 “Development programs for revitalization of Serbian villages”. In Jun 2017, she acquired the title of research associate. Since October 2017, she has been selected as an assistant for the narrower scientific field of Tourism.

So far, Marina participated in several scientific and professional gatherings in the country and abroad.
