Biography

Vladimir Malinić was born on September 25th 1992 in Belgrade, where he finished elementary school and the 6th Belgrade High School. He enrolled in basic academic studies at the Faculty of Geography of the University of Belgrade (tourismology) in the academic year 2011/2012 as a regular student. During his studies, he was a scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. He graduated in 2016, with an average grade of 9.64, defending his final thesis entitled “Tourist Valorization of the Đerdap Danube Sector” (grade 10, mentor Prof. Dr. Mirjana Gajić). During his undergraduate studies, he completed a six-month internship at the Tourist Organization of Belgrade and a four-month internship at the City Administration of the City of Belgrade – Secretariat for the Economy (organized by the Centre for Career Development of the University of Belgrade).

He enrolled in Master’s studies at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography, majoring in Geography, in the 2016/2017 school year. Master’s thesis “Regional-geographical studies of the Valjevo region”, under the mentorship of prof. Mirjane Gajić, Ph.D., defended in 2018 with a grade of 10. By defending his master’s thesis, he completed his master’s academic studies with an average grade of 10 and obtained the title of master geographer. In the same academic year (2016/2017), he enrolled in the second master’s study program at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography – majoring in Tourism. Master’s thesis “Concept of sustainable tourism on the example of the Đerdap tourist region”, also under the mentorship of prof. Mirjane Gajić, Ph.D., defended in 2017 with a grade of 10, which earned him (with an average grade of 10) the title of Master of Tourism.

He enrolled in doctoral academic studies at the Faculty of Geography of the University of Belgrade, study program Geosciences (with a focus on Regional Geography) in the academic year 2017/2018.

From the academic year 2018/2019 until December 2021, he was engaged as a demonstrator at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography, and from December 2021 he has been employed as an assistant at the Department of Regional Geography.

From May 2018 to December 2021, Vladimir Malinić was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia in the field of Geoscience, during which he was engaged as a researcher-scholarship at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography on scientific research project no. OI 176008 “Development programs for the revitalization of Serbian villages”.

Since 2021, Vladimir Malinić is a member of the team of the national project “Geographical study of Kosovo and Metohija” for the period from 2021 to 2024, which was approved by Matica srpska, under the leadership of prof. Dr. Dejan Šabić.

In August 2022, Vladimir Malinić, as a researcher, participated in the international scientific expedition in the Russian Federation – “Kamchatka: Northwest Ring of Fire”, which took place within the “New Generation” program under the auspices of the Russian Geographical Society

He speaks English and Russian.
